A week (or so) in the East Midlands

I’ve got a couple of nice Manchester gigs coming up in March, but after several months away, I am in need of limbering up, to get myself audience ready.

The answer is a trip to a different area, get some open mics in and have a fun week or so away.  If anyone fancies joining me, all of the following events have open mics that don’t need advance booking.

So I’m starting this Friday (21st Feb) with a Some-Antics slam.  It’s comedy and poetry because this month is tied into the Leicester Comedy Festival.  At the Phoenix, now – I haven’t been since it moved, so I’m really looking forward to it.  Some-Antics is always a brilliant night, I laugh from start to finish, and I imagine this month will be even more fun.

Then next week, on Thursday 27th I’m off to Poetry Scum, at the Robin Hood, Nottingham.  I did a headline slot here last summer and it was the best gig ever!  The audience, the politics and the pub itself – it’s just a perfect combination.  Really is worth going to.

And that Friday (28th) I’m going to finish at a night I’ve never been to before.  Word Wise at Dubrek Studios in Derby.  I’ve been to the venue before, for an EMOM, but this will be my first Word Wise.  Looking forward to it!
